The Blues through Project-based Learning (PBL) and Music Technology
George Hess
Students learn and retain more when they learn concepts as they need them. A well-designed project can not only lead them to discover how to do what they need to do as they need it, but also to take charge of their own learning.
This session, led by George Hess, will showcase a semester-long curriculum on the Blues that uses many different software wand technologies. Students learn to compose, arrange, perform and improvise while they learn to, record, mix and produce. While the technology is an integral part of the plan, the focus always remains on the music and the model is adaptable to any style of music.
