Sir John Cass Steel Orchestra

The Sir John Cass Secondary School Steel Orchestra is made up of young musicians ranging from ages 11–18 years. The orchestra's repertoire spans a breadth of musical styles and genres boasting something enjoyable for everyone whatever your preferences. The band's tutor Kyron Akal also works as a Musical Director and Arranger for some of the United Kingdom's top Steelbands such as the Metronomes Steel Orchestra and Mangrove Steelband.

The School's Steel Orchestra has performed at The Royal Albert Hall, Houses Of Parliament, Trafalgar Square on St George’s Day and the Lord Mayor's Show Parade. The band is in great demand and proudly performs annually at a range of school and community events.

The Sir John Cass Steel Orchestra will perform on the opening morning of musiclearninglive!2012 (Monday 12 March).
