Munira Mirza

Munira Mirza is responsible for advising the Mayor of London on his strategy for youth and culture in the capital.
Her youth remit includes Mayoral policy on education and GLA programmes such as Earn Your Travel Back and Safer Learners.
For culture, Munira leads on the city's cultural celebrations for 2012, arts and music education for young people, promoting culture across all the boroughs and improving access to culture for Londoners of all backgrounds.
Munira has worked for a range of cultural and charitable organisations including the Royal Society of Arts, the independent think tank, Policy Exchange, and Tate. In 2009, she completed her PhD in Sociology at the University of Kent. She has written extensively about cultural and social policy in the UK.
Munira is a member of Arts Council England, London Regional Council, the Royal College of Music Council and the Cultural Olympiad Board.
