Lucinda Geoghegan
Active Learning Through Music
Lucinda Geoghegan, a music graduate of Edinburgh University, became a fully qualified Kodály educator in 1997, and worked as a secondary music teacher and Primary music specialist.
She is a member of staff with the British Kodály Academy, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra Junior Chorus and Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. Her work as the National Youth Choir of Scotland Education Consultant includes Staff Development across Britain. As one of the 'Expert Friends' of Sistema Scotland, she has provided training for music tutors and members of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.
Author of Singing Games and Rhymes for Tiny Tots, Singing Games and Rhymes for Early Years and Singing Games and Rhymes for Middle Years, she co-wrote Go for Bronze Level One in 2003 with Christopher Bell. Go for Bronze Level Two and Go for Silver were published in 2008 with Go for Gold to follow. She has recently written a new pack for class teachers which integrates active learning through music with the learning outcomes of Curriculum for Excellence.
