Fiona Pendreigh

Making it Musical

Fiona Pendreigh is a freelance music adviser, having worked as a Local Authority Primary phase and specialist subject adviser for nine years. She devised a model of delivery for the pilot of Wider Opportunities and the National Music Partnership Programme.

Fiona has written planning documents for QCA, articles for NAME (National Association of Music Educators), MEC (Music Education Council) and publications for Heinemann. She assisted in devising and delivering the Trinity Guildhall Open University KS2 CPD programme and is a consultant for Musical Bridges and Sound Ed.

Fiona is currently the vice-chair of NAME and serves on the Executive of MEC.

She has gained a reputation for devising challenging and creative professional development programmes with the back-up of rigorous evaluative and reporting mechanisms which meet the needs of the music profession in a flexible, meaningful way.

Fiona believes in empowering colleagues to find solutions that work for them rather than imposing a fixed model. She sees her role as a communicator and facilitator, helping establish structures to enable high-quality provision.
