Eva Saether
Creativities in Practice: Shaping the teaching and learning of music creatively
Dr Eva Sæther is Associate Professor/Reader in Music Education at Lund University, Malmö Academy of Music (MAM) (http://www.mhm.lu.se/o.o.i.s/19648).
Her research interests include social inclusion in music education, intercultural perspectives, creativity and social media. She teaches research methods at graduate and undergraduate levels and coordinates the master education in music education.
She is a member of the faculty board at MAM and is one of the initiators of the Nordic joint master programme, GLOMAS (http://glomas.net/). Her doctoral dissertation, The Oral University (2003) is built on field work in the Gambia and contributes both to the discussion on intercultural music education and on the dichotomy of formal – informal learning.
She has many years of experience from course development at the Music Teacher Programme at MAM. From focussing mainly on ethnomusicological theories and methods, her areas of interest have moved towards the area of creativity.
