David Barnard

So What's Next? Living with the National Music Plan

David Barnard is currently Head of Education for Roland UK.

He holds a first class honours degree in music (BA Hons), a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), an Associate Diploma from the Royal College of Music (ARCM) and a Diploma in Management (Dip Mang). He has studied at Middlesex, Leicester and Oxford Universities and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA) and a member of the Chartered Institute of Management (ICMI).

Before joining Roland in 2005, David worked as a professional trombonist, teacher and conductor and was Director of Swindon Music Service for eight years and, prior to that, Head of Music Centres for Kingston Music Service and Enfield Arts.

For the last 18 years, David has been course leader for the ABRSM’s professional development programme (CT ABRSM) and was heavily involved in the promotion of Music Medals. He is still active as a performer and is a member of Collegium Brass and Flowers Band.
