Connecting Dance, Rhythm, Music and Song
Asafo Gyata and Chloe Rose Laing
The roots of this workshop, led by Asafo Gyata and Chloe Rose Laing, are steeped in African/Caribbean culture.
We will be exploring the primary movements and instincts of humans and animals and incorporating into this live African drumming and percussion. Participants will be taught both simple and complex movements including Zulu Warrior steps and Gum Boot dancing.
This workshop is not simply intended for entertainment or exhibition but as an alternative and efficient means of enhancing work done in mainstream education, encouraging individual and group communication on many levels and promoting lifelong learning.
