Chloe Rose Laing

Connecting Dance, Rhythm, Music and Song

Chloe Rose Laing has written songs and performed them in numerous projects from a young age. Funk and reggae bands were her introduction to performance as well as theatre shows and Irish dance.

She spent ten months travelling and gigging in Thailand and New Zealand in 2008. This led on to her pursuing a year's music study at Dartington College of Arts, during which time she also worked with artists from Totnesia Records and guitarist, Nick Marshall.

Since moving to Bristol, she has been doing session work with various artists including DJ DIE, Undercover Hippy, Jez Hellard, Mankala, Willie Mbuende, Kayali Roots and Imran Khan.

Chloe is presently developing her project, Creation Soundz. This consists of facilitating singing workshops and also an ensemble exploring a capella harmonies, percussion and poetry with an original fusion of self-written songs with soul, blues, reggae, funk, hip hop and gospel flavours.

She has recently begun facilitating workshops with the Amanzi Healing Foundation in local schools, offering ways of exploring the voice through creative writing and self-expression.

She believes that singing is a vital tool for well-being and empowerment. She supports individuals and groups to express their emotions by developing contact with the inner self through the voice. This promotes healing as it encourages people to open up and experience their true feelings.
