Asafo Gyata
Connecting Dance, Rhythm, Music and Song
Founder of the Amanzi Healing Foundation, Asafo Gyata, has been running rhythm, dance and poetry workshops in local schools and community centres as well as in institutions such as prisons, refugee centres, hospitals and mental health establishments since 1989.
In 1998, he graduated as a teacher of the African/Caribbean martial art, Ka-Zimba Ngoma, working as far afield as South Africa, Ghana, Tanzania, Trinidad & Tobago, Dominica, Grenada, Barbados as well as in Bristol and across London. He has worked with Chloe Laing on countless performances and workshops in the UK and is currently setting up a creative centre of excellence with her in Bristol in the Sports Hall of the old South Bristol College.
